It's been a while

It certainly has. My last post was ages ago. I do apologise. But I have been pretty tired from work, so I usualy just make some dinner and then crash in the evenings. But even if I had been posting there wouldnt have been much to say.

Last Sunday was really good though. I got to go actual mountain biking! Its been so long. Steve and I went down to Dumfries to hit up Mabie forest, of course we went on the Red 17km XC route, and then went and checked out the Kona Dark Side trail. That is crazy. Skinnies, drops, ladders and all sorts of twists and turns across the moor. I could only ride some bits. Its very intense. Need to try and do more biking. Its great fun. Check out some photos from our trip here.

Was Caroline's birthday on Saturday past, and we had a super day. Went for some lunch, then some dancing in the ABC in the evening.

Back to work today. I hate it, I feel like Im just wasting my time away doing it, not really contributing to anything worthwhile. I want to do design. Hope it happens soon.

Fell On Black Days

Im still looking for that break. The one where I find that dream job where I get to design what I want to all day long, and get paid well for it. It hasnt happened yet, but Im optimistic.

My new job as a porter/driver is ticking along alright. Not too taxing or difficult, just kind of depressing. But Im trying to put a good spin on it. More money for one.

Not much to say really. As I havent been upto much really. Went to see a flat, but the owner accepted an offer that day so it had gone. Still looking.

Reading a book called Marley and Me, about a very naughty and mischievous Labrador. Its very funny, and reminds me of Judy. I cant wait to get a dog.

I know Im a little late in this, but have you heard the new Killers album. It is rather special. Check it out.

The new Sony Bravia Colour advert is up now, so go watch and enjoy.

Long Way Down

Its been a while since my last post. Why, I hear you cry...

I have got a job. A full-time job. Working as a porter/driver at Glasgow Uni. Hardly the best career move but it wont be for long. I basically deliver at the hospitality stuff (sandwiches/tea/coffee etc) to the various functions around the uni, then back to base. I get to drive an amazing S reg blue For Transit with no power steering. Awesome piece of machinery.

I finish DiMaggios on Wed, which I am happy about I guess, I dont like working all day then doing DiMag at night, plus it means I get my evenings back. But I will miss the banter, and it was easy money.

An interesting day yesterday. Took a drive up to St. Andrews to see a mate do his skydive. It didnt happen, as the weather wasnt suitable. So we went into town and had a wander. But the skydive place is so ropey. Some little hut in the middle of nowhere, and everyone seems to be a bit of an arse.

Cant think of much else. All creativity has shut down for a while unfortunately. So no new photos or deisgns. Working sucks, I want a cool job!

Californication

I finished Anothony Kiedis' autobiography, Scar Tissue, yesterday. It really is an interesting read, reading about his struggle with addiction and his antics on the road. He sounds a bit of an arse sometimes, but I think he has been through a lot. Starting a new book, Marley and Me, about an owner and his very naughty Labrador. I cant wait to get a dog.

Start my new job tomorrow. At least it will keep me out of trouble. Just general driving and porter duties around Glasgow Uni.

Roaring my way theough The Sopranos. Halfway through season 5 thanks to some free DVD trial schemes.

I actually cried tears with laughter when I saw this. Im so juvenile.

You can learn how all your favourite bands interact with this.

Thats it for now.

Blink and you'll miss it

What a result yesterday evening. Im not that big into football but when your home nation beats the World Cup runner-up's 1-0 you have to be a little happy. Not as happy as some of the people I met while delivering. One woman was obviously steaming and was whittering on about how it 'was pure class'. Amazing, indeed.

Sucks to be Michael Scumacher. Engine failure has all but put him out of contention to win his last championship. Bummer.

Went to see Trust The Man the other day. A comedic tale of love lost and then found again. It was ok, it had David 'Mulder' Duchovney in it, who has turned his hand to being a good comedy actor, and it was watchable. I really want to go see The Departed. Martin Scorsese, Jack Nicholson, you cant go wrong.

Two thirds of Blink 182 are at it again. Following on from Tom Delonge's Angels and Airwaves, amazing band check them out, Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus and two others have formed +44. Listen here

Anyway, off to the beach to take the dogs for a walk! Super.

Bada Bing

Its been a strange week or so. Nothing bad, just been good to hang out with C a lot more than usual. We had a pretty rocking weekend. Just down to the pub for a few on Friday evening, sinking a few with White Shadow and Nails. Then Saturday, and I was off work, so me and C went for lunch, had a wee drink, went and saw her sister Lyns at her work, Dr Jives, then went for another drink. Then down to Kilmarnock for a dinner, some very nice wine and good chat. Then into town, and after that it all gets very messy. I dont think I can divulge the details because what happens at the ABC stays at the ABC. And then a hellish night at work on Sunday. 24 deliveries! Made over £60 in one night though so its all good.

Just a straight chat today, no photos, no links as I have been lazing about watching Sopranos and US TV shows.

Oh yeah, changing the name of my moniker for design purposes. Got a few ideas. Answers on a postcard.
