Skin And Bones

Its been a while, again. Quite an OK week. Not too busy at work, which is just becoming more and more boring and mind-numbing by the day. I just feel every day is a day I dont do anything constructive. Hope this will change soon. Applied for more jobs, and hopefully have some freelance stuff coming through.

Picked up a copy of the Foo Fighters new live album 'Skin And Bones' yesterday. Its fantastic. Would have been amazing to see one of the acoustic shows. The new track 'Skin And Bones' is very bluesy but so good.

If you can, go out and drop £3 on the new Incubus single. Anna-Molly is quite spectacular, and the live version of Drive, my favourite Incubus track, is great, and you also get an acoustic version of Love Hurts, a new track. Money well spent.

Looking forward to seeing Idlewild in Dundee on Tuesday, then Biffy Clyro in Perth the week after, and Aereogramme next year.

If you are going to the cinema any time soon, see Casino Royale. Its so amazing. Daniel Craig is possibly the best Bond ever. He plays it so well. And the film is just action after action, even in the poker game the action keeps coming. The new Aston looks pretty slick, except it gets totalled.

In an issue of the Metro last week it seemed it was dedicated to the new Xbox there were a lot of adverts for it. One of them was cool, as it was actually within the main body of text in the paper. Heres some shots.

Dont think I have any cool links to share, but if I do, I will post them later.

Desecration Smile

What a week. Work is ruining my life. The other driver was off for two days so that shifted the week a bit, plus some graduations and events which needed what seemeed like a thousand boxes of crap moved back and forth. A late night last night working until nine, and in tomorrow. At least all this overtime is paid at time and a half, and sunday is double time. Work eh. Pfft.

What compunded this bad week was that A) Caroline was working nights so I didnt get to see much of her, and B) I couldnt go to the Aereogramme gig in London. Gutted. I would have liked a wee adventure to see an awesome band. Sources tell me it was awesome.

I did get tickets for the Biffy Clyro gig at the Barrowlands in January though. Can't wait!

Off to see Casino Royale, the new Bond flick, on Wednesday. Exciting stuff. I think it will be good. It has had good reviews, and Daniel Craig looks like a good Bond, although I think Clive Owen would have been an amazing James Bond. He was in the running, and just missed out. But Daniel Craig is signed up for at least the next Bond film, Bond 22, in 2008.

Well not much else really.

This is pretty nifty!

Wish I Could Of Faltered, Wish I Could Have Changed

Not much has been happening as usual. Thats all I seem to say on this. Not much has been happening. Rubbish.

Had to work Saturday morning and got paid time and a half for doing about 15 minutes of work. Got to read my book for two hours though. It wasnt that great (the book, Nick Hornby's How To Be Good) but I managed to work my way through it.

Gutted I dont get to go see Areogramme down in London. Would of been a lot of fun. Still looking for Killers tickets to one of their Glasgow dates, but they are going for silly prices on eBay.

Went to see Saw3 at the weekend. That is one crazy film. Quite disturbing, and not as clever as Saw2. It was more gore, for gore's sake. It was also quite badly edited so was really choppy and hard to watch. But worth a look if you have seen 1 and 2.

If you can, pick up the Last Kiss and Garden State soundtracks. Zach Braff knows a good tune.

Two new bands you should listen to. The Hours and Midlake. The Hours' Ali In The Jungle is great.

There was a pretty slick Le Mans car today at Glasgow Uni. How they got it into the cloisters I dont know as it was pretty wide. Take a look.

If you have some spare time, take a look at this from Adobe. Pretty slick.

Link Madness

Microsoft's new mp3 player the Zune is about to go live. Could it be an iPod killer? Maybe. iPod's have now become so common that they have kind of lost their unique appeal. But they still rock and are probably the best mp3 player available. But yeah, have a look at the Zune.

The new Kasabian video. Reminds me of some of the older iTunes adverts, and the QOTSA Go With The Flow video. That track sucks a bit though.

The Biffy Clyro blog! Hell yeah.

Possibly the funnest game ever.

Keepin On

I really mean to keep more up to date with this, but such is life and things get in the way. But then that could just be an excuse.

Anyway, work is as always boring and mind numbing. I can do it in my sleep now, so I am just really wasting my time. But its money, which is what we need now. Not much luck on the actual graphic design job front. No one wants you, unless you have all this experience. I need a break. I hope it happens soon.

Was away at Loch Katrine yesterday having a wee cycle about on the roads round it, nice to have a gentle spin now and again. Hope to do more biking soon. Glentress rocks.

Apple have announced they are opening a store in Glasgow, on Buchanan Street where The Pier is. Hopefully opening next spring. Always a good thing. Apple rock.

Music news. Biffy Clyro are in Kerrang this week. Page 6, check em out. New album in the spring. The Killers album has not been out of my CD player. It truly is amazing. New Aereogramme album. More of the same, but less shouting. Foo Fighters have a live album called Skin and Bones coming out the end of November. Everyone must buy this, because the Foo's are the best band ever.

Off to see some fireworks at Glasgow Green. Peace Out.

Oh, I do have some photos to go up, but I will do that later.
