Into Oblivian

This is becoming more of a weekly update. Which is a bit rubbish but Ive been pretty busy lately. Had a meeting last week for some freelance work and needed to work on that. Plus this last week has been pretty busy at work so havent been getting in till later and then I just crash in front of the TV for most of the evening. Plus I forget usually.

Anyway, been reading the best book I have read for a while. The follow up to Million Little Pieces by James Frey, its called My Friend Leonard and you need to read his first book to get his second book. Its such a great style of writing and is so witty and interesting. Its great, check it out.

Some cool music news. Funeral For A Friend are back! And they sound better than ever. Check out the video for the new single, Into Oblivian, here. You can also get a great new track called Out Of Reach for FREE, gratis, nada, right here.

TV is being pretty good, Prison Break, 24 and Lost are all wrapping up their seasons nicely. And House has started its new season on Channel 5, Thursdays at 9. Its great.

What was with the football on Wednesday? We had some chances but never really worried the Italians. But we held out OK, the two goals the Italians got were pretty lucky really. Was meant to go and see 300, but we went to the football instead. Maybe see it at the weekend. I cant wait, it looks so good!

Oh yeah, before I forget. FOO FIGHTERS are coming to Scotland! They are playing a special gig for T on the Fringe in August. Hell yeah, I cant wait. Its gonna be great!

Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies

Again. Its been a while since I posted here. Nevermind.

Been pretty busy actually. Work has been keeping me occupied, so I usualy just come home and crash in the evenings. Been catching up on a lot of TV though, Lost, 24, Prison Break, all of them are brilliant shows.

Get this, we went to the theatre last night. How cultured. Went to see the stage adaptation of Life Of Pi (wiki it), which is a book about a boy who is trapped on a lifeboat with a zebra, a hyena, a orangutan and a bengal tiger. It was ok. The main actor who played Pi was a bit annoying, and the whole thing was a bit of a pantomine. Still, sometimes its good to try new things.

Last friday was fun, there was a robbery at the Clydesdale Bank on Byers Road, which happens to be the one that the uni uses. So I do the bank run, and we cant get in because the polive are everywhere. But the top of Great George Street and Gibson Street are closed off because armed police are taking care of a suspect holed up in a guest house. Turns out its the wrong guy who has nothing to do with it. There was a great video of the whole thing on the bbc new website last week.

Not much else really. Heard a new Biffy song on Zane Lowe's show last week, Living Is A Problem, Becasuse Everything Dies, its the opening track to Puzzle and their new shows I bet. Which I have a ticket for. Cant wait.

Dont Think Twice

A pretty good week last week. Work was alright, not too busy, some overtime, but they are putting more and more work onto us, so something is going to give sooner or later.

Went to the pub quiz on the Wednesday and did quite dismally, came 11th out of 12 teams. Poor. But no one won the money so its upto £360 for this week, so hopefully better luck next time.

Then came Thursday and we managed to get free tickets to go and see Keane. Now Im not Keane's biggest fan but it was at the liquid rooms in Edinburgh, a super small venue so I thought it would be OK. Not really. Their stage presence and sound was really good, namely because it all came from a keyboard. But it just wasnt that good, and the frontman is a bit of a arse. I felt a bit cheeky being there when some proper Keane fan who didnt get a ticket could of been there. The place was full of real Keane fans who love them, bit too full as someone was always bumping into you though.

Then last night we cut up a rug at the ABC. It has been a while since we have all gone dancing. A pretty good evening. Some drinks in Gong then into town for some ABC action. Some good music was played. Predictably the new rave movement was abundant. Klaxons, CSS and all the other bands were present. But some other good tunes like Bones by The Killers were played. 2am, chips and then off to bed.

Have a meeting on Wednesday about some freelance work. See how it goes.

Been downloading a load of TV shows recently after getting a new BitTorrent client. So Im all up to date on 24, Lost, ER, Desperate Housewives etc. 24 is just such a good show. Best thing on TV. Ever.

Light On My Life

Some good music news today.

Biffy release the second single from their forthcoming album, Puzzle, today. Saturday Superhouse is an explosive power-pop-rock anthem which I personally like more than Semi-Mental! And I went on a lot about that. Buy it now!

The Arcade Fire release their new album, Neon Bible. Keep The Car Running is the first single, and its a good one. So the album should live upto expectations. Still gutted we didnt get tickets to see them. They were good last time.

Finally Idlewild release their new album, Make Another World. Two good singles so far, so the album should be good enough. Hope it improves on the last one, which was good, but not as good as other albums.

Think thats all. Oh check out a band called Hello Goodbye here. A huge fanbase and have been touring for a long time. They are so different they are cool.

Right, Peace Up G-Town Down.

Not In Portland

I am so far behind with my viewing for Lost. I am only upto episode 6, I downloaded the recap episode instead of episode 7. Gutted. Im behind in 24 as well. Bit Torrent can be very slow sometimes, I think its probably on my end though.

What a nice day it was today. Crisp and clean, with a very warm sun. Thats global warming for you. The sun's rays are getting hotter and more dangerous. We should all be starting to wear sunglasses and put on sunscreen when we go out. Like the Aussies do. But they live under a huge hole in the ozone layer. But it wont be long before we do as well!

Here are some photos.

Heading back from Edinburgh saw this fire from the motorway. Looked like it was in the southside but havent heard anything about it.

This is the most amazing photo. Found in the St. Andrews building of Glasgow University.
