Rock Star

Flat hunting is so gay. It takes ages, and most of the time they are gone before you can view them.

Have a flat now! I went to view it last week. Went back in the evening to put in an offer. The London way of doing things is weird. Offers for a rented flat? Eh? Anyway, after an agonising wait over the next few days we hear back that we got the flat!

So we chill out most of the weekend. Went and saw 'Atonement'. Not a bad film. Wonderfully shot, and a great score. Bit depressing ay the end.

Anyway, the last week comes around. What a stressful week. Many days chasing phone calls to the estate agent trying to get this flat sorted. References, guarantors, deposits, bankers drafts. Five alive its tricky. But it finally got sorted on Thursday, and hopefully sign the contract tomorrow and be in Tuesday. I am driving down then with all our sh*t so I better have somewhere to put it!

As we had left it quite late sorting the flat it was a rush to get out coming back up on Friday. So we looked into trains, planes and automobiles. Everything was pretty pricey, so we hired a car! A Renault Clio 1.5D. Va Va Voom. It was pretty nippy. Nice car.

Looking forward to getting the flat. Still not liking London too much. Full of bloody foreigners! And everyone is so rude! I was back in Glasgow for the day today and its so nice. Hung out on George Square for a while just enjoying the view.

Get the new Foo Fighters album tomorrow! Do it.

Heres some photos Ive taken!

Hire car!

A Banksy!

New street.

Was in Glasgow today and managed to grab some photos of my posters being displayed around and about. They are in some of the underground stations. Buchanan Street and Hillhead are two of them. And also down by the Sub Club on Jamaica Street.

Tokyo Laundry

is a great track found on the 2007 T-Break Sampler CD. Its fiull of good stuff actually. Go get it now.

So Im heading down to London tomorrow on the Virgin Trains service from Glasgow to Euston. Need to sort out a flat. Have a viewing tomorrow and hopefully one on Tuesday.

Went out for a ride today. Up the North Third. It had been a while since we were up there. Was a good ride though. Rode from Dunblane to Stirling then out to Cambusbarron, up the hill though the woods, then down into the quarry, then onto the fire road upto the North Third. Was really good though. Let it rip on some parts which was good fun. But Im a bit knackered now. Im so unft its not funny. Need to get fitter.

Watched the World Champioships for the DH biking today. Sam Hill takes the win. Steve Peat still struggled after his foot injury came off and coasted the course. Gee Atherton did well and got the bronze. Its a shame it was so wet and some of the riders could of really contested it. Nathan Rennie, Lehikonen and Minaar could of taken it had it been dry. Sam played it well. Put in a slowish run for qualifying so got early on the hill. Posted a stellar time. Watched the rain and wind come in and hinder the later riders. 2x World Champ now.

Anyways, Ill report when Im in London.

Climbing Up The Walls

Quite an apt title as I am super bored. I am writing this at my desk looking out my window at the clouds drifting over our house. Its nice to be back home and have some peace and quiet in the country. But we are still looking for a place to stay in London. I am getting quite wired onto where are good places. Caroline went to view one last night and it wasnt too great. Bit down about that, but we have another viewing on Saturday which looks good.

Oh yeah, check out The Twilight Sad covering some Radiohead for a covers compilation of OK Computer. Ten years since that was released. Same with The Colour And The Shape by the Foo's. Where does the time go. Oh here is the link. Also check out Kerrang this week for a lowdown on the new Foo's album track by track.

Non Zero Possibility

Is 'Relationship Of Command' the best album ever? Full on hardcore emo I guess. Who cares. Its rock.

Not been upto much since Sunday, just mooching about really. Watched some films. '25th Hour' is still really good. 'Good Will Hunting' is a great film, only seen it once before, but forgot how good it is.

Finished up some of the freelance work last night. You should be seeing posters and newspaper adverts about some event at the end of September. Hopefully I can grab some photos of them.

No One Knows

Went up to Glasgow on Friday night. Just went to the pub for a drink but I was driving so then had Cokes and Irn-Bru. Was good to catch up (even though its barely been a week!) with all the happenings. Quite a bit has happened, but thats secret!

We decided to climb Ben Arthur (The Cobbler) yesterday. Good in theory, but when you pull up in the carpark and its tipping it down, not so good. Was a good climb though, very strenous, and when we reached the top it was just cloud and about 100mph winds! No way we could go through the keyhole. Some people were trying but had full safety harness on. You can see some photos on flickr here.

As for Saturday night it got messy. Feasted on 4 pizzas between 3 in the Bierhalle, then went to the flat for a couple and watched Arrested Development (best TV show ever?). Then headed into town and met some folk for a drink. Then moved on and met some more folk. Then I had to pay £7 to get into the ABC. But a top night was had. At about 2am some good tunes came on, so we stayed for them then I had a sore night on the couch.
