Way With Words

I have a job. I am now working at the Apple store on Regent Street as a Mac Specialist. Im a bit reluctant to whittle on about the job here. I signed loads of confidentiality agreements for all sorts of stuff. So I will just say its going OK so far. Very busy, and its a bit of a challenge, but everyone is very friendly and nice.

Just been wrapped up the last few weeks with interviews and starting work so not much has been happening since two weeks ago. Not the weekend past but the one before we decided to go home for about 12 hours. Saturday morning I decided to drive up the road, and headed back on the Sunday. Unlucky for me I got the cold, so had tried to fend that off most of last week until the weekend when I started at Apple.

Finished all my web design stuff so that's all wrapped up. I think design will be taking a back burner, at least until the new year.

Had a pretty lengthy discussion on facebook yesterday with Telfer about albums of the year so far. It basically revolved around him not liking Jimmy's album and me not liking Radiohead's album. Its all personal opinion really. There has been some really good albums this year. Some of my highlights are :

Angels And Airwaves - I Empire
Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light
Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
Bloc Party - A Weekend In The City

Well that's about it for now. London is still a bit of a grumpy place to live. Nobody is that friendly.

A Decade Under The Influence

I have decided to distance this blog from the design stuff I do. So I have changed the name to one of my favourite Foo Fighter lyrics. Go Dave. All creative work (design, photo, web) will still come unde the Black Mint Design name. But this bloaaaagggh (watch Californication already!) will be for my rants and raves.

Its been a busy few days. What with interviews, seminars, web design and people visiting. V dawg was down on Friday until Monday, so we hit the Tate Modern, Harrods and the Natural History Museum. On Sunday Telfer and I went to the Serpentine gallery in Hyde Park. Then my folks and my sister came down on Monday until Wednesday. We visited the V and A, Harrods and the Science Museum. All lots of fun.

Have a look at flickr for some photos. Go here.

No Sleep Tonight

Call me thick but I just realised what the song 'No Sleep Tonight' by The Fader's is all about!

Anyway, the reason for this post. You know I love the Foo Fighters, well here is a cool rundown on the artwork for the latest album.

Check it here

Call To Arms

I just uploaded the photos I took from the Battersea Fireworks display on Saturday evening.

If you want, you can view them here.

I recently got Angels & Airwaves new album I-Empire. To say its amazing is an understatement. A great follow-up to their first album, and they are sure to go from strength to strength. Such magestic, grand and imposing songs. Check it out if you can.

Happiness And The Fish

Again, its been a while since I posted here.

Quite a bit has been happening. Finished up some freelance website design work I was finishing off. Applied for a load of jobs. Had an interview of monday for an outdoor shop called Nomad. Still waiting to hear back. And had a seminar with Apple today at their Regent Street store. Was really interesting. More of a group interview process, and we will hear back soon if we get to the next stage which is a one-to-one interview. Looks like a very cool place to work though. Was back home for a few days last weekend. Nice to be home. Was out on Sunday evening. Went to Universal in Glasgow, and had personal table service from the best barman ever. We even got our choice of music on the jukebox later on in the evening.

Just been swatting up on Apple for a while now. Leopard was out last week, and it is very cool. And when I was in the Apple store today I was playing with the iPod Touch which is very cool also.

Trying to sort out getting a bike or a frame and swapping my components over. I hate not having a bike. My friend Miles came off his brand new singlespeed road bike the other night and spent the evening in casualty with a dislocated shoulder. Numpty.

Thats about all to report. Ill TRY and post more often. I do forget though.
